No public parking! I am NOT a resident of Brunswick Beach. I live in Ambleside, West Vancouver, and I love this beach. But I feel strongly that it is important to respect the residents of Brunswick Beach because it is a small area with houses side by side about 20 feet from the beach. Please do NOT take your dogs to the public beach. Respect Brunswick Beach residents. Show some consideration towards them. I can't understand why people refuse to do this.
This is a semi private beach in Lions Bay. The reason is that there is no public parking and no washrooms or playgrounds. I was lucky and parked at the end of Brunswick beach road and stayed less than 30 minutes. Just long enough to enjoy the view and take some pictures. This could be a great public if government built a parking area and added a small washroom. The beach is public and if you want to come then it is beach to come by bus. There is a bus stop beside the highway which is 10 minute walk from the beach. Take the C12 Lions Bay/Brunswick bus in Horseshoe Bay (travel time 17 minutes). Another option is to park in Lions Bay near the general store and walk the Lions Bay loop trail to Brunswick.
Loved the calm waters. Not far from the Lions Bay Village. Some rezidents appear nice but I noticed that some of them don't like the visitors, I did nkt get a reply when I said "Hello". Maybe they are anoyed by many people stopping by on their way to or from Whistler.They managed to pass a bylaw to help them keep their street visitors cars out, if you plan to visit the beach or the area, be prepared to park near the Highway (it can be hard to find an empty spot during hot weekends), and walk down to the beach.The village hired a bylaw officer that is very active in the area looking to find cars that do not have permit to park there.Few houses appear that were made in the 60s by wealthy people, now it is just the land that has value, after so many years of being near the salty water, I imagine the cost of repairs.The water at the beach is few degress warmer.
The beach is public. The park is located on the north side of the point. The beach to the south is public, nude if you want. Unfortunately the locals like to pretend it is under a waterless, but it is not. You are allowed to go there. You are allowed to bring your dog. Yes you are, but a local who claims to be a bilaw officer will harass you if you bring a dog and he will even write you a ticket. The bylaw is in place north of the point. South of the point is public Please go there with your dog. It's awesome view. We saw orcas.
Lovely rocky beach right by the golf course and new residential development. It is very quiet and there is a boat that has been stranded. Lovely to just sit and enjoy.
